State Trading Organization plc successfully held its Annual General Meeting for 2025 at dusitD2 Feydhoo. The event gathered 263 shareholders, with 176 attending in person and 87 participating via proxy.

During the meeting, shareholders officially approved a dividend of MVR 85 per share for the financial year 2025. Additionally, Mr. Mohamed Ahsan Saleem was re-elected to the STO Board to represent public shareholders for the 2026–2027 term and Ernst & Young was appointed as the External Auditors for the year 2026.

Basic food items are the main foods essential for human growth and maintaining good health. This is considered one of the most important aspects of human life.

Under the government's policy to ensure basic food items used for consumption are available to the general public at affordable prices, 23 items have been added to the designated list of basic food staples (in addition to rice, sugar, and flour). These items have been released to the market and sales commenced on October 15, 2025.

All these items will be available at the STO Wholesale Center and STO People's Choice.
