Construction Solutions

Energy department is the trusted supplier of clean fuels required to keep the country’s economic gears running. We operate out of Funadhoo terminal located in Kaafu atoll. Diesel and Petrol required for utility infrastructure, resorts, and private customers are supplied from Funadhoo terminal. The terminal has capacity to store 291,000 Barrels of Diesel and 59,000 Barrels of Gasoline. We also supply jet fuel to Velana International Airport and other airports in the country.

One of our key objectives is to ensure energy security for the Maldives by providing a reliable stream of fuel wherever its needed. We have always sourced products from established fuel majors and employ our own fleet of tankers from source of origin to end customers.

Fuel Supplies Maldives (FSM) is STO’s subsidiary established to distribute fuel within the country. FSM has fuel stations in major cities, providing the public with clean 95 Gasoline and Low Sulphur Diesel.

State Trading Organization is the sole physical supplier permitted to carry out bunkering at Uligan. We operate two bunker barges which carry VLSFO and MGO.

. The depth of anchorage area is 30m to 70m.

The area experiences two seasonal weathers: Northeast Monsoon from December to March and Southwest Monsoon May to July. Northeast Monsoon is associated with light breeze, no rain usually and wins on BF scale 3-4 from North to North East. Southwest Monsoon sees heavy rain and wind mostly from Southerly to South West, with winds of 4-6 on BF scale. November is an inter monsoon period.

In all situations, the ships hold good with 8 shackles well in water and for big ships 9 shackles and should there be a need vessel can keep engine on short notice.
